Let’s see why this pitch worked: #### **Let’s take a look at the actual pitch that placed: ** *Subject line: Mushroom Foraging Expert Tips/Coastal Miss. * *Hi \_\_\_\_\_ – Good morning! From Coastal Mississippi, I wanted to get your thoughts on a story idea around mushroom foraging. * *There are a number of top Chefs in the region that are big on foraging mushrooms and using them in their dishes. They could serve as experts for a piece on how to do this on your own, how best to prepare mushrooms and the health benefits of using foraged items. * *I’ve included below my signature a Q&A example from James Beard nominated Chef \_\_\_\_\_ of \_\_\_\_\_ as well as his bio. * *While nationally under the radar, Coastal Mississippi has a bustling culinary scene both influenced by the seafood industry (producing 69% of the nation’s domestic shrimp) which has brought in a “gumbo” of cultures from Vietnamese to Croatian as well as top Chefs that are redefining what southern fare really is. * *Any interest in pitching to any of your outlets?* *Thanks for your consideration!*   #### **Our PR bestie explains why it worked:** - “Pitch was specific to a trending culinary topic and more how to for consumers.” - “Included an already packaged expert with a sample Q&A that made it easy for the writer to pitch an editor.” - “The destination is lesser known and under the radar.”   \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_   Want more tips for pitching travel?
